York High Street Forum

The Voice of York's High Street

York High Street Forum is a forum for decision making and discussion on issues affecting York City Centre businesses. Our goal is simply to make York the best it can be to work and live and visit. The day to day operations of YHSF are run on a voluntary basis.

We represent the voice of local bricks and mortar businesses of all shapes and sizes. Together we have a much larger influence when dealing with questions relating to the future of York city centre.

York

The Forum is a free to join for bricks and mortar businesses within the city walls.

We encourage input from businesses  to identify opportunities to develop trading and to represent members’ views and ideas to relevant bodies where challenging issues arise.

We want YOU to be involved and give your opinion on any issues or any wider challenges that affect your ability to trade.

The Good Business Charter is a simple accreditation which organisations in the UK can sign up to in recognition of responsible business practices.

It measures behaviour over 10 components: real living wage, fairer hours and contracts, employee well-being, employee representation, diversity and inclusion, environmental responsibility, paying fair tax, commitment to customers, ethical sourcing, and prompt payment.

An organisation must meet all 10 commitments to receive GBC accreditation. Open to private sector, public sector and charities of all sizes including a streamlined version for organisations with 50 employees or less.
